Yup, No Need for Speed Here

Iced green tea gives me the caffeine boost I need without the harsh effects from coffee.

Today’s run was fueled by green tea. I think switching from coffee to green tea is a win-win situation.

Believe deep down in your heart that you’re destined to do great things.

It has been 3 full days since I ran. Today, I skipped the Starbucks because all that caffeine not only tore up my digestive tract, but it also makes me to clench my teeth, causing a whole lot of pain. The offending molar is an old gold crown. Apparently, there is a good possibility that it is dead and will eventually have to get pulled. The dentist told me that it may have to be pulled next year or ten years from now.  Anyway, you get the picture. I’ve been on Motrin for two days.

I listened to … It is one of …early mixes, so there are no long-winded announcements at the beginning. It just goes right in to a beat that gets a hypnotic vibe going right off the bat.  It’s a beat that I was able to match my foot steps to.

Speaking of footsteps, I was talking to a little, and by little, I mean short, like 5’3″ Macedonian lady on the causeway today. Even keeping up with her normal waking pace winded me and I was running too! Normally, I would beat myself up about this but John, the Penguin Bingham’s book and popular motto is, “No need for speed.” Yea, I think I’ll stick to that attitude. No injuries to report since I started running again and I’m grateful for that. Sure a few minor aches and pains, but nothing to stop me from getting out there and doing a run. Yippee!

What Does a Daily Kick in the Butt and Tony Robbins have in Common?

OK. I’m not a big Tony Robbins fan, In fact, my BF used to call him, “I am a freak Tony Robbins.” I kid you not!

Regardless of what I personally think fo the man, today Runners World sent me one of those daily kick in the butt quotes from him that actually makes sense.

The truth is that we can learn to condition our minds, bodies, and emotions to link pain or pleasure to whatever we choose. By changing what we link pain and pleasure to, we will instantly change our behavior.

Tony Robbins, American self-help author and motivational speaker

Edit – He sounds like a Scientologist.
