The search for the perfect carry on luggage is on!

Where art thou o carry-on luggage of my dreams?

Up before the crack of dawn today. I’m wide awake so there is no chance of going back to sleep, so I’m out the door to get a mile or so in at FHP.

Edit – Even though I got up before the crack of dawn, I still didn’t get there until 8AM! 3 times around the island = 2 miles.

I feel really safe at FHP. There are a bunch of locals that walk there everyday. They are so friendly. Most of them are WWII vets so you now they’re packin’ heat in their car. Some how knowing a WWII vet has my back is comforting.

Then its off to find the perfect carry on luggage. I am a picky shopper and cheap to boot. I don’t like prints, I don’t want one directional wheels, the handle has to be the right height, the fabric has to be acceptable, the stitching has to be a quality job. Yea, I’m a real picky shopper. I’ve learned much from the grandmaster of all shoppers, my BF. Who quite frankly put it, and I quote, “I may not know much, but I know how to shop and  I know where I parked the car.”  Two traits that sadly have taken me years to master, if you could call it that. We will save the discussion about my claustrophobic reaction to dressing rooms for another day

Edit – I went to Stein Mart to check out what they had in stock in the way luggage. I was 45 minutes too early so I went home instead and made gluten-free blueberry pancakes with  organic Greek yogurt topping. Its a low sugar high protein option to the typical psydo-maple syrup drenched fare.

However,  I did find a decent carry on bag, but it wasn’t perfect. I wound up buying a hard shell piece with spinner wheels and a black, white and gray plaid design. Perfect? No, but good enough to suit my purposes for now.

2.27.11 – The luggage has gotten me all the way to China. Then from Weihai to Chengdu. Not bad for a bargain set of luggage from T.J. Maxx.
