It has been a long year with no running due this this plantar faciitis injury. Fortunately, it seems to be a thing from the past. What did I learn from this experience? Never, ever, ever run in old shoes again and really focus on form and technique.
I ran around the track about 3 times and did a combination walk/run. I was amazed. I had heard of muscle memory before and I had experienced it before too, but this time it was unexpected. It left me feeling hopeful and a little concerned about next years job assignment. What if I can’t run because there is too much pollution, crowding, cultural obstacles or just plain ‘ol bad weather? Would I be doomed to tedious treadmill runs? Anyway, I have a whole year to solve that problem.
I gotta be honest, my sleep pattern is totally whacked. I went to bed early, but I got up early too, like around 3:40 AM. I tried to go back to sleep, but couldn’t. Finally, I just made up my mind to just go for it and I did. I’m glad I did.
