(Wow! I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything here since 2012.)
I’ve been off of sugar, wheat and dairy for almost 4 months now. I fell off the hamster wheel a few times, but got right back on again the following day (or two). Although, I haven’t seen a reduction in weight, I’m able to concentrate and be more productive. I’ve got several projects going in addition to working a demanding full time job.
My goal is to continue to get up every morning at 4 AM (ish) write until 6:00 AM, then when I come home from work, continue to work on less mentally taxing projects, while my food is cooking. Now my challenge is where do I fit in exercise? So I got this idea, based on a productivity tool called the Pomodoro technique, I decided to flip it. Work for 25 minutes and then, exercise for five. As a writer, I spend too much time sitting on my kester. The trick is to incorporate it into my lifestyle.
I’m always full of ideas, some great and some admittedly not so great, so I’m going to give this flipped Pomodoro technique a try. Today I have on my flamenco shoes and I’m watching my favorite flamenco DVD at 0.6 speed so I can follow the dancers movements. It’s lots of fun. For me, I think the trick will be to keep things from getting too repetitive and boring. I think I’m going to see about downloading some new farruca footwork for later use. Now where’s’ my USB stick?
